#OMCZ 26 - Looking Back

It's that time again - Outside My Comfort Zone Blog Challenge

I have to say, I really love these posts. Being pushed to write something (in a good way) is a way of making sure I always have something new to write about.

This weeks challenge is called Looking back. Steph chose the theme, with the idea of looking back over the past year (that's how long the challenge has been going) and how we have changed. Although I have only been doing the challenging a few weeks, I had a think about the last 12 months and I don't think I have changed that much - but there is a reason for that.

I moved to London (from Lancashire) almost 2 years ago. When I moved here I didn't own a dress! I know, it's crazy to think that when you look at my blog now! Back then I was definitely a jeans and jumper/t-shirt/tunic top girl. I think I was one of those girls that assumed Evans was my only option, so I had to stick with what I knew. I was always pretty confident, but the way I dress has definitely changed. I have around 50 dresses in my wardrobe now, and I couldn't tell you the last time I wore jeans! So, maybe my change hasn't come in the past 12 months but my fashion and dress style has most definitely changed - and I love it!

I don't have many more older photos, especially not full length ones so I can't do much more of a comparison. What I will say is that now I feel more comfortable and at home in dresses than anything else. When I first started wearing them I felt 'silly' and self-conscious. It's all about stepping out of your comfort zone and trying something new - the more you try it, the more in your new comfort zone you will feel.

Do you think your dress style has changed over the years?

Outside My Comfort Zone - Accessories

This weeks Outside My Comfort Zone post is about accessories and I could not be happier! If I am out and about, you'll rarely see me without a massive necklace on or big hoop earrings. I think what I love about accessories is that they are so cheap, so you can afford to treat yourself to a nice little bit of sparkle, even if you can't afford a new dress.

I decided to have a look through some of my pics, to see what sort of accessories I have worn over the last year... and this is what I came up with!

Glasses

I actually don't need to wear glasses myself, but I actually love wearing them. I keep meaning to invest in some 'geek'glasses to wear for fun without an outfit, but havent yet been brave enough! All of these glasses belong to friends, who are kind enough to let me try them on what I fancy it!

Necklaces

I have far more necklaces than a girl needs - but I honestly do love them! I like to pick up bargains from Primark and eBay and getting unique pieces from places like Black Heart Creatives. All of these necklaces are different lengths, which means I always have an appropriate piece to wear with an outfit.

I also love to wear big ear-rings and the occasional scarf. I love how a little accessory can change the way an outfit looks! You'll probably all nnotice that I have a bit of a love affair with wearing belts with my dresses too!

What accessories do you like to wear?

OMCZ Keeping It Casual

I decided this week to keep up my Outside My Comfort Zone post with Yours Clothings 'Onesie Wednesday'. I know that Onesies are a bit of a marmite situation, but I have to say I love them!

Yours Clothing kindly sent me this onesie to review, because it is a feature in their new range which goes up to a size 36. I remember two years ago being over the moon because I found one website which had one onesie available in my size - now I have so much choice for my size and places like Yours Clothing going even bigger and for me it is amazing!

I love this onesie simply because it is comfy and cosy... its made of a lovely fleecy material which keeps me nice and toasty even on cold days. I have to say that when it comes to casual at home, I love nothing more than being in a onesie or a pair of pyjamas. The sizing of the onesie is great, it's long on me (but I am very short) so if you're a bit taller then go for it! I love the hood because it makes me feel all cosy and lovely.

You can buy this onesie up to a size 36 from here http://www.yoursclothing.co.uk/P/Red_and_black_star_print_hooded_onesie-(18330).aspx

Yours Clothing do a range of clothing and nightwear up to a size 36. I can vouch for this item http://www.yoursclothing.co.uk/P/Pink_Scruffy_Pooch_Frill_Sleeve_Placement_Print_PJ_Set-(20185).aspx because they kindly sent me the pyjamas. Unfortunately I wore them ALL over Christmas and left them at home at my mums house 400 miles away so there is no photos of me in them - bad blogger! They're really comfortable and well made though, so definite worth a look!

Yours Clothing were kind enough to feature my photo on their Facebook page yesterday, and it now has over 300 comments of debate on how good (or not!) I look in the onesie... I'd love to know what you think of this type of casual wear?

If you haven't used Yours Clothing before then you can use the code 'blogger6' to get £10 off of a £20 spend. New customers only but what better excuse do you need to give them a try?

OMCZ - Week 21 - Emulate Another Blogger's Style

There are so many bloggers style that I love, but would not usually wear. I don't think this is a bad thing, we all have our style and it is important to dress however you feel happy and comfortable - which is always the main thing! That said, when I saw this weeks Outsize My Comfort Zone post, I had to think about who I would want to dress as! My biggest fear was doing it badly and offending a blogger that I love, which obviously I don't want to do!

Challenge: "Emulate Another Blogger's Style"

Rebecca wrote:

"I know it's best sometimes to keep things simple, but I've recently been thinking about how fun it would be to emulate another blogger's style that is very much so out of our comfort zone. It could be a blogger within or outside of the the OMCZ group, but I know there are plenty of bloggers out there whose style I love but have not dared to wear."

So - Instead I choose to pick a style that a number of bloggers choose - VINTAGE! I love, love, love the like of Tess Munster and George at Fuller Figure Fuller Bust and the style that they dress in. I love the thought of tea dresses, vintage clothing and everything that comes with it! I dug deep into the bottom of wardrobe and found this dress that was given to me a few years ago, that I have never worn!

I actually love how this dress looks on me, though it may be a little long - now I just need somewhere as an excuse to wear it! Vintage tea party anyone?

OMCZ #20: The Colour of Confidence

I have wanted to be involved in a 'bloggers challenge' for some time now and have struggled to find one I feel I'll be able to contribute too! This week I was reminded about the 'Outside My Comfort Zone' posts that go up every Wednesday - and so here I am!

Sadly, my first week has to be a bit of a let down - I am in Kent looking after a poorly friend and didn't really bring any 'outfitty' things with me!

Seeing as this weeks theme is 'The Colour of Confidence' I thought I would post a couple of old oufits rather than back out of the challenge completely!

The Colour of Confidence by Vicky: My theme is going to "The Colour of Confidence".  For me, red is the colour of confidence and everything I wear it, be it lipstick or clothing; I feel an extra boost. What is your confidence colour?

I tried to look through my photos to see if a colour stood out in my outfits... and I think it has to be pink (or patterned, but seeing as we're going for colour - I have gone for pink!).

I know, this isn't the greatest Outside My Comfort Zone challenge post ever - but I promise to come back fighting next week! For now, pink is definitely my confidence colour!

Of course... I do were red, the traditional colour of confidence too!

Please take a few minutes to check out the other ladies in the challenge:)
