Aztec Dress & A New Leggings Company

Just after Christmas I managed to snap up this dress in the New Look Inspire sale. It's a bit small for me, but I don't mind a cosy fit so its all good. I don't have any aztec type print dresses and I think it was about £12 in the Christmas Sale, so you can't go far wrong really!

I teamed it up with leggings from Big Bloomers Company.

Last week The Big Bloomers Company contacted me about reviewing their products - their website is amazing and they offer all sorts of items up to a size 8XL. I chose their smallest size of leggings which were still a little too big for me - but how fantastic to have options for larger ladies. I have to say the quality of the leggings is fantastic and I'll definitely wear them with boots (so you cant notice that they're too long ha ha) and I would have no hesitation in recommending them.

What did you manage to snag in the January sales?

Different Strokes For Different Folks

One thing I love about reading blogs is seeing how different people choose to style different outfits. I thought I would put together a few different examples as I find it fascinating to see. It's interesting to me to see how different dresses can look so different on ladies of vary heights, sizes, body shapes and different styles.

I love that all of these dress look different on different ladies, even if they're styled the same! It just goes to show that you never know how a dress is going to look until you try it on - so get out there, be brave and try something new!

I'd love to expand on this feature in the future - Have you got a photo of you in a dress I have? I'd love to see and if possible share it with my readers!

Thanks

ABC - Flocked Frocks For Christmas By New Look

It seems to have snuck up on us, but now lots of retailers are offering a wide range of different flocked frocks - and I love it! What I love about the flocked style is that it turns what could be a plain dress into something different! Whilst looking at the New Look Inspire range to see what they're offering this Christmas I noticed that they have a number of these dresses on sale. It's not quite my usual ABC style as the prices between them aren't that dramatic, but I love the dresses all the same!

Affordable - Inspire Burgundy Rose Flocked Skater Dress

I am a sucker for a skater dress as you know and this one doesn't disappoint. What I like about burgundy is that it is a nice subtle colour which you'll be able to dress up in almost anyway that you want. This dress is yet another great Christmas dress offering that you can easily take from the office to after work drinks. It's only £24.99 and you can get it here.

Bargain - Samya Stone Flocked Rose Print Sleeveless Skater Dress

I really like the subtle colour of this dress too, but what I love most is the sleeves! This shape of skater dress has caught my eye recently and I;d love to have this in my wardrobe. I can see this dressed up either with sparkly jewellery or go the complete opposite way and go for big bright colours. Although this dress is £40.00, its a great investment piece which you can continue to wear after the festive season. You can get your hands on this dress  here.

Cash To Splash - Praslin Teal Oriental Flocked Skater Dress

I love everything about this dress! I love how the bright teal colour and the flock effect work well together, it really makes the dress stand out and look different. However what I also love is the shape of the neckline which I think will be very flattering whatever body shape you have. This dress is only £42 which means you won't have to stretch the budget too much to afford it! You can get this dress here.
Have you seen anything you like from the New Look Inspire range this season?

OOTD: Leather Biker Jacket & ASOS Wrap Top

I know, I know - what a lovely, imaginative title - you lucky bunch! My creative juices are really flowing this morning, can you tell?

Anyway, I finally got around to wearing this lovely purple wrap dress that I got from ASOS for my birthday (thanks Gem!) and thought I should blog about it! - It's also now only £15.00 in the sale - bargain!

I teamed it with leggings (obviously!) and then to leave the house I wore my New Look biker jacket and a pretty cake scarf which I also got for my birthday!

As always I am loving my accessories - I teamed this outfit up with my new Black Heart Creatives necklace (Thanks Leighanne) and a long, heart necklace from Primark!

I am notoriously bad for wrapping up warm for winter - I hate layers and wearing too many heavy clothes so generally I don't wrap up at all! This is the first coat (jacket!) I have owned in years. That said, I do love the look and the fit of the jacket so I don't see any reason why I wouldn't carry on wearing it for winter - seeing as it's freezing already, I think we're in for a cold one!

Have you bought anything new for your winter wardrobe?

I Can't Shop On The High Street, I'm Fat: A Look At New Look Inspire

I have talked about the New Look Inspire range before, in fact I own quite a few of their pieces. I recently discovered that the New Look on Tottenham Court Road (London) has quite a big Inspire range in store so I thought I would go along and check it out!

As you will see from the pics - the display is pretty impressive. They have quite a big area dedicated to Inspire clothing, so you can easily browse for what you are looking for. There is a good selection of clothes - though I did notice a couple of items I liked on the website which I couldnt see in store.

The only thing I was disappointed in was the fact that the store still only stocks up to a size 26. I thought it was great news that the New Look Inspie website goes up to a 32 now and I would love to see this rolled out to stores soon. *fingers crossed*

I did however fall in love with one of their beautiful leather style jackets and will be purchasing this in my size from the website ASAP!

Pretty Birthday Dresses

Last week for my birthday my friend Lucia (from www.ucantwearthat) bought me a lovely new dress from New Look. I have to admit that the dress is something that I would have glanced at on the rack and not picked up. But then, hands up, I am guilty of sticking to one style of clothing as much as possible. The lack of sleeves on this dress would have put me off - even though the pattern is beautiful!

Inspire Burgundy Butterfly Skater Dress
That said - I love it!! I love the fit, I love the pattern and SHOCK HORROR I love the sleeves! I know for many people getting their fat arms out is a big deal and I guess I somehow fell under that umbrella, but actually you know what - who cares!

The truth is that, whatever I wear I will look fat! Whether I wear sleeves or no sleeves, I will still look the same shape, so why not wear whatever I like!

The dress is from New Look and goes up to a 32. I found the fit to be a good one although the material doesn't have much stretch to it, so you should probably bear that in mind when ordering. I really loved that this was patterned and pretty without being too bright - so perfect for the day time!

On the day I teamed it up with my brand new over the body bag (Thanks little sister!), leggings from Love Ur Curves, cardigan from Yours Clothing and boots from Primark.

I love that my friends help me push boundaries and wear clothes that make me feel fabulous!! If you love the dress, you can get it here.

Have you ever been 'forced' to push the boundaries of fashion and ended up loving it!?

Pushing The Fatshion Boundaries Every Day!

I bet, if you look in your wardrobe it is mainly made up of the same style of clothes. Whether you like to wear mainly black, or jeans and a top is your thing your wardrobe will (in most cases) be dominated by one type of clothing. For me, it is leggings and pretty dresses - I love them! I have learned how to make them work for me and now I am running with it! (So to speak, no actual running!)

However, it shouldn't always be like that! I learnt this weekend that trying new things often means you discover new items that you like & new ways to wear clothes!

Last week I saw this dress on the ASOS Curve website

ASOS CURVE Denim Pinafore Dress In Dark Vintage Wash
Anyway, I loved the dress and I saw plenty of people on Instagram and Twitter wearing it. However as it was out of my comfort zone, I couldn't picture wearing it myself!

This weekend my friend (Lucia from U Cant Wear That) and I went out and she was wearing the dress! When we came back to my house, I demanded that she let me try the dress on!

Even though its a bad picture and even though I am wearing it OVER an existing dress I love the way it looks! So much so, that I really want to get one for myself!
The dress is here if you want it.

While out and about I also eyed up a leather jacket that I really liked the look of in New Look Inspire. I don't wear jackets... ever! I haven't owned a coat in years... I just don't like them! But this jacket jumped out at me and I really, really liked it! I tried it on and I am in love! (It's a size too small but they didn't have my size in store - I am ordering it online today!). It's here if you want it!

So - there you have it. Not only a weekend of amazing company, Mexican food, vodka and the cinema but a learning curve & two completely new style items to add to my wardrobe - good times all round!

When was the last time you pushed the boundaries with clothes that you wear?

Pink To Make The Boys Wink - Inspiring Fashion From New Look

I went shopping in Blackpool this weekend and had a bit of a mooch in New Look. The Blackpool store isn't one of the biggest I have seen but I was really impressed by their Inspire range. Although store displays say that they do up to a size 26 I saw plenty of items up to a size 32, so it seems that they are rolling out bigger sizes in their stores as well as online.

It made me realise I hadn't browsed the New Look website for a little bit so I had a look this morning, what better way to brighten up a dull Monday morning! I love some of the pieces that their website offers at the moment, here is my ABC look at some of their pink items!

Absolute Bargain - Bright Pink Ruffle Neck Dress

Currently in the sale this bargain of a dress is just £6  - you probably won't get much more of a bargain that that! Even at full cost it was just £12.99, so it really is good value for money. I love the fit of this dress and even though it relatively plain piece the bright colour and the ruffle neck line more than makes up for it. If you like to wear bright colours then this is a great staple piece to add to your wardrobe! You can buy this one here!

Best Value For Money - Coral Crochet Collar Sleeveless Chiffon Dress

The sleeveless look is one that I don't rock often enough but a dress like this is could more than change my mind. I love the coral colour of the dress and the lace neckline makes it a really pretty dress. I have a couple of weddings come up in the next few weeks and at just £19.99 I think this could be a perfect, bargain outfit to wear! You can buy this dress here.

Cash To Splash - Praslin Pink Floral Sweetheart Dress

It is hard to find a cash to splash item in the Inspire range because they offer such value for money. However, this sweetheart dress jumped out at me because I love the colour and pattern. It's just £34.00 and if the pink shade isn't for you, there is a black shaded one that looks just as lovely. You can buy this dress here.

If pink isn’t for you, New Look Inspire have loads of options and pieces up to a size 32 so they are well worth looking at!

Is your wardrobe dominated by one main colour or do you try to vary things?
